Welcome. This is the first post on Utah Opinions — a place to publish essays and commentary on Utah politics, education, and the issues that shape life in this state.

The plan is simple: long-form writing, posted when I have something worth saying, organized by topic so you can read what interests you and ignore what doesn’t.

What this isn’t

This isn’t breaking news. There are good reporters in Utah doing that work. This is the slower version — context, analysis, and opinion.
